Ye are the salt of the earth (Final)

Salt has a very unique characteristic;  it causes people to become thirsty.  This is evident to anyone that has ever eaten a bag of potato chips, seasoned with salt.

Judgment Day is coming!  It is not in the far distant future.  It is closer than the next breath.  You must hear the sound of the trumpet to be warned of the last day, which is to come.  The end is near!

How often have you been warned by the Christian Community that the end is near?  Though they be pastors, evangelist, theologians, deacons or any Christian that claims to be "Born Again"; have they sounded the trumpet?

God has identified His people as "The salt of the earth".  God has authorized, or empowered, His people to declare (sound the trumpet) to the entire world (earth).

In Ezekiel 33:1-9 God also calls His people (believers) Watchmen.  Believers warn the people of the world that God is coming with a Sword upon the land.  The Sword upon the land is language pointing to the judgment and death that comes at judgment day.  The Watchman warns the wicked to turn from their iniquities.  If the Watchman (believers) fail in their duty, God will hold them accountable and will bring judgment on them for their failure to be obedient to God's commandment.

Jesus said in John 7:37 "...if any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink".  In Matthew 11:28 Jesus said "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest".

Is this burden (heavy laden) related to the thirst, which comes from the fear of the Lord?  Is it the  fear that develops when we hear God declare "I will destroy you at the last day"?  Many would say that being heavy laden is related to the cares and woes of this life.  They say that Jesus is available to make this life free of illness, free of poverty or free of political oppression.  If that were true it would be evident that the gospel is a miserable failure.  I am afraid those that believe along those lines are mistaken.  Jesus says in verse 29 of Matthew 11 "...ye shall find rest unto your souls".  The Sabbath rest pointed to the finished work of the Lord Jesus.  The rest that is in view is forgiveness of sins and eternal life.  Praise be to God!

Believers thirst after righteousness (Matt. 5:6) because the warning of Judgment Day is understood in light of what the Bible, God's Word, has declared.  It is not a fairy tale or some story conjured up by man.  It is the revelation of a Holy and just God who created everything.  We may miss an understanding of a particular doctrine here or there but our cry to our Father in Heaven is "Lord, I believe, help thou my unbelief". (Mark 9:24)

I heard a minister say something I thought was consistent with the "true gospel".  He said "God does not work in your life from the outside in.  He works from the inside out".  I believe this statement is true because God looks on the heart. (I Samuel 16:17)

This online ministry is designed to provide a "hearing of faith".  The Holy Spirit is our persuasion.  May God anoint you with understanding according to His loving tender mercies.

Can I get a witness?
