Everyone Needs Jesus

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23

Everyone needs Jesus. Most people do not know they need Jesus because they have not received the Spirit of God. They do not understand their spiritual depravity and the need for Jesus, who is the Christ.

In the book of Acts, chapter 16, there is a story about a woman named Lydia. Lydia listened to Paul and the desciples. Lydia attended to the things Paul spoke of. The Bible in this passage clearly says of Lydia"...whose heart the Lord opened,..." This woman was of the city of Thyatira (Rev. 1:11) where they worshipped God. Lydia would never be able to worship God "in spirit and in truth" (John 4:24) unless The Lord opened her heart.

If you are reading this and have not had your heart opened by God it will not make sense to you. It will be foolishness to you (I Cor. 1:18). Wonderfully, God opens the hearts of those He elected to salvation (Matt. 20:15&16). Without the Lord we will never ever trust in the Lord on His terms.

Sinners cannot receive Jesus unless God opens their hearts (John 3:27). The two thieves that were crucified alongside of Jesus reviled and mocked Him (Matt. 27:38-44, Mark 15:29-32). Luke chapter 23 describes Jesus crying out to God to forgive them (verse 34). Obviously God opened the heart of one of the two thieves crucified with Him. He had a change of heart and rebuked his fellow malefactor (verse 40) and cried out to Jesus (verse 42). Jesus saves this thief as He hangs on the cross (verse 43). Jesus took the chosen one to Paradise; Paradise is a synonym for heaven (II Cor. 12:1-4).

God is savior (Isaiah 43:11). We cannot save ourselves. Everyone needs Jesus; the heathen and the believer. Without Jesus, who is the Christ, we can do nothing (John 15:5&6).

If you think God loves you, think again. Has God opened your heart? Are you able to hear His Word today?

So then faith cometh by hearing, hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17)

Read the Bible, cry out to God for mercy, trust His Word.
